About the New Bergerac
If you loved the original Bergerac series, which ran from 1981 to 1991, you’ll be thrilled to see this modern reimagining come to life. Set against the stunning backdrop of Jersey, the new series brings fresh energy to the classic detective drama.
Taking on the lead role of Jim Bergerac is Damien Molony, known for his performances in Derry Girls and Brassic. This new adaptation is directed by Colm McCarthy (The Bastard Son & the Devil Himself, Peaky Blinders), with Toby Whithouse (Doctor Who) leading the writing team. Whithouse describes the opportunity to bring Bergerac back to the screen as a “rare honour,” promising an exciting and gripping crime drama.
